Our September, 2022, Informational Tour took us to Rolling Meadows to visit the Clearbrook Community Mental Health Center (CMHC). Thank you to Hollis Gorrie, Vice-President of Programs, for arranging and facilitating our tour.
Opened in 2021, the CMHC serves individuals who are diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability and have a mental illness. It serves both Clearbrook clients and members of the community. A second CMHC is located in Crystal Lake.
Currently serving over 180 individuals, the CMHC offers individual, group, and family sessions, either in person or virtually. The individual’s therapy method is developed using a person-centered approach and the clinic philosophy focuses on the individual through solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and dialectical-behavioral therapy. It also offers art therapy and guided meditation, and has a partnership with StationMD.
The CMHC program is licensed through the Bureau of Licensure and Accreditation and is funded through the Illinois Department of Mental Health. The CMHC accepts insurance and Medicaid for clinical sessions. Please contact the CMHC for more information.
For referral information, contact the office’s Licensed Clinical Professional Counsel (LCPC) or Heidi Raymond, Clearbrook Director of Admissions, at hraymond@clearbrook.org.
