Connect to Community was honored to receive $2,750 in Community Funding from Palatine Township and its Human Needs Committee to help fund our Educational Outreach initiative as well as our new Employer Outreach pilot program.
CTC Educational Outreach programming provides valuable information and resources to families of young adults with developmental disabilities on topics such as housing, government benefits, employment, day service options, special needs financial planning, advocacy, and much more.
Educational Outreach events include monthly virtual Friday Forum seminars, monthly Informational Tours, and an annual Transition Summit. Seminars are also recorded so that the information can be easily accessed by those who are unable to attend.
As part of our commitment to employment, our new Employer Outreach pilot will be designed to help inform, train, and support area businesses that have an interest in increasing their disability workforce or hiring an employee with a disability for the first time. We hope this program will encourage businesses to take advantage of this untapped pool of talent and create a win-win situation for both employer and employee.
Thank you, Palatine Township! Your continued faith in us and your support of our mission is greatly appreciated by both our organization and the people we serve.
