We were honored to welcome Ligas Court Monitor Ronnie Cohn as the featured speaker for our November Friday Forum.
Ronnie shared with us the history of the Ligas Consent Decree, victories and challenges that have been encountered over the years, and the current state of negotiations.
Ronnie brings a wealth of experience to her position as Court Monitor and we appreciated her listening to the concerns of our area families regarding the lack of quality services available for our loved ones here in the State of Illinois. As parents, educators and service providers we must continue to advocate for a better use of existing resources and a greater emphasis on community-based living.
We also want to thank Kirk School Student Alex R. for volunteering his time assisting at our registration table and greeting attendees, and to school staff for facilitating. We appreciate his help and love having him at our events.
