Connect to Community

Thank you to all who attended our “Evening with Director Fenton” event on September 15. Lots of good information was shared and we hope that everyone left with a better understanding of the disability system in Illinois. It’s not always easy, but together we can advocate for what our loved ones need to be fully-included members of their community with access to appropriate vocational, residential and day service options.

Thank you to Director Greg Fenton, Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities, for sharing his time and expertise with our area families, and to Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) for asking Connect to Community to co-host the event with them. Tracey Crawford and her staff (especially Brian Selders) did most of the heavy lifting and we so appreciate their commitment to the families that they serve.
